The Sherline Laser Engraving Plate & XY Slide w/18″ Table is a sophisticated tool designed to enhance laser engraving operations. This product features a tooling plate crafted from black anodized 6061 aluminum, measuring 8 inches by 18 inches. It is specifically designed to mount on an 18-inch Industrial X/Y Slide, providing a robust and versatile platform for precision engraving tasks. The slide offers 5 inches of Y-axis travel and 13.6 inches of X-axis travel, with handwheels calibrated in .001-inch increments for the inch slide and .01mm increments for metric, ensuring precise control over movements.
The tooling plate is engineered with dual-purpose ¼-inch holes on 1-inch centers, which are threaded ¼-20 on the bottom and reamed to ¼-inch on the top. This design allows each hole to function as a part locating hole when a ¼-inch dowel pin is inserted, or as a clamping hole using the ¼-20 thread. Additionally, the plate includes 16 holes positioned to mount Sherline’s rotary table and tilting angle table, enhancing its adaptability for various setups.
The XY Slide with the 18-inch table is a 2-axis machine slide equipped with plain handwheels, offering travel dimensions of 13.38 inches on the X-axis and 4 inches on the Y-axis. This configuration provides a stable and precise platform for engraving tasks, making it an excellent addition to any engraving laser setup. The tooling plate also features a 5/16-inch oiler access hole, allowing for easy maintenance without the need to remove the plate.
